Safety Considerations
1-3-1 Introduction
The following safety precautions must be observed during all phases of operation, service and repair of
this equipment. Failure to comply with these precautions or with specific warnings elsewhere in this
manual, violates safety standards of design, manufacture and intended use of the equipment.
1-3-2 Human Safety
Operating personnel must not remove the system covers.
Servicing should be performed by authorized personnel only.
Only personnel who have participated in a Voluson® 730Pro / 730ProV Training are authorized to
service the equipment.
1-3-3 Mechanical Safety
This symbol indicates that waste electrical and
electronic equipment must not be disposed of
as unsorted municipal waste and must be
collected separately. Please contact an
authorized representative of the manufacturer
for information concerning the
decommissioning of your equipment.

WARNINGWARNING
USE EXTREME CAUTION WHEN ELEVATING THE UNIT, OR IF IT IS RAISED FOR A
REPAIR OR MOVED ALONG ANY INCLINE. IT MAY BECOME UNSTABLE WHICH
COULD CAUSE THE UNIT TO TIP OVER.
WARNINGWARNING
ULTRASOUND PROBES ARE HIGHLY SENSITIVE MEDICAL INSTRUMENTS THAT
CAN EASILY BE DAMAGED BY IMPROPER HANDLING. USE CARE WHEN
HANDLING AND PROTECT FROM DAMAGE WHEN NOT IN USE. DO NOT USE A
DAMAGED OR DEFECTIVE PROBE. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE PRECAUTIONS
CAN RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY AND EQUIPMENT DAMAGE.
WARNINGWARNING
NEVER USE A PROBE THAT HAS FALLEN TO THE FLOOR. EVEN IF IT LOOKS OK,
IT MAY BE DAMAGED.
CAUTION
Always lower and center the Operator I/O Panel before moving the scanner.
CAUTION
The Voluson® 730Pro / 730ProV weighs 136 kg or more, depending on installed peripherals,
(300 lbs., or more) when ready for use. Care must be used when moving it or replacing its
parts. Failure to follow the precautions listed could result in injury, uncontrolled motion and
costly damage.
ALWAYS:
Be sure the pathway is clear and use slow, careful motions.
Use two people when moving on inclines or lifting more than 16 kg (35 lbs).
