3.7 Temperature control unit
Description
Temperature control is applicable for the jacketed mixers. The mixer vessel is surrounded
by a vessel jacket where a temperature controlling fluid circulates. Temperature control
is provided by a separate temperature control unit (TCU). The TCU keeps the circulating
fluid at the designated temperature.
XDUO mixer PLC provides the setpoint for the TCU. The TCU gets a remote input from
the mixer via a cable that connects the TCU with the mixer I/O Cabinet.
Consult the manufacturer's manuals for more information about the TCU.
Models of temperature control
units
Two types of temperature control units can be used with the jacketed mixers:

Heating only
or
•
Heating and cooling.

The facility does not provide an in-
house cooling system.
The cooling is provided by the facility where
the system is installed (an in-house chilled
water system is in use).
Both types of TCUs get a remote input from the mixer I/O Cabinet.
