Types of Collisions that the Side
(Side and Curtain) Airbags May Not
Be Deployed
• Frontal collision or near-frontal collision.
• Rear collision.
• Rollover.
• Minor side collision ("minor" is only for
the sensing of airbag ECU or the impact
sensor of the vehicle, regardless of the
extent of the vehicle damage.).
• The airbag system suffer malfunction.
• Other special cases.
Airbag warning indicator
Do not attempt to service, repair,
remove or replace any component of
the airbag system. Otherwise, the system
may not operate.
An airbag ready indicator is provided for the
combination meter on the instrument panel,
which is marked with a symbol of the air-
bag. The system can check if there is a mal-
function in the electrical system of the
airbag. The indicator can indicate if there is
an electrical malfunction. Refer to “Instruc-
tion of Warning Light and Indicator” in Sec-
tion 2 “Instrument and Control” for the
position and meaning of each warning light.
