STEP 26
G1545MP
Install a new wiper ring in the head gland.
Apply a thin coat of oil on the seal, wear ring and
wiper in the head gland, prior to installation on the
rod.
STEP 27

Using care, slide the head gland over the threads
and onto the cylinder rod.
STEP 28

Install a new backup ring (1) and O-ring (2) on the
head gland.
STEP 29

Install the backup washer (1) and O-ring (2) on the
cylinder rod.
Push the O-ring against the backup washer. Be sure
the O-ring is not twisted.
STEP 30

Install the piston on the cylinder rod.
STEP 31

Apply Loctite ® #271 Thread Lock (or equivalent) on
the threads. Install and torque the nut on the cylinder
rod to 450 ft.-lbs. (610 Nm).
