5) Retighten the mounting bolt (5) to secure the generator (6).
6) Check the pulleys, the V-grooves and the fan belt (7) for
damage, and check that the fan belt (7) does not touch
the bottom of each V-groove.
7) If the fan belt (7) cannot be properly adjusted because
it has lost its elasticity or if it is damaged or cracked, re-
place the fan belt (7) with a new one.
25-3-6. Checking and replenishing the battery electrolyte
1) Open the cover (1) and check the battery (2) electrolyte
level with the battery (2) electrolyte level gauge. If the
battery (2) electrolyte level is between the upper and low-
er limit marks, the battery (2) electrolyte level is proper.
2) If the battery electrolyte level is below the lower limit
mark, replenish the battery electrolyte.

The battery generates flammable gas and can
cause a fire and an explosion.
Keep sparks, flames and lit cigarettes away from
the battery.
Battery electrolyte is strong acid. To avoid seri-
ous injury, do not allow the electrolyte to contact
your skin or splash into your eyes.
Always wear safety goggles and protective
clothing, when adding electrolyte.
Do not use the machine with the battery which is
short of battery electrolyte. The shortage of bat-
tery electrolyte not only will reduce the life of the
battery but also could cause an explosion.
