Guidelines for Using Extension Cords

Canada)toindicatethatitisacceptableforoutdooruse.
• Besureyourextensioncordisproperlywiredandingoodelectricalcondition.Alwaysreplacea
damagedextensioncordorhaveitrepairedbyaqualiedpersonbeforeusingit.
• Protectyourextensioncordsfromsharpobjects,excessiveheat,anddamporwetareas.

• Do not direct the heat gun airflow at clothing, hair or other body
parts. Do not use as a hair dryer. Heatgunscangeneratetemperaturesof572°For
moreofamelessheat.Contactwiththenozzleorairstreammaycauseseriousburns.
• Inspect and know your work area.Checkyourworkareaforhiddenspacesbefore
applyingheat(behindwalls,ceilings,oors,softsandotherpanels)thatmaycontainammable
materialswhichmayignitewhenusingtheheatgun.Itmaynotbereadilyapparentifthese
materialsigniteandcouldresultinseriouspersonalinjuryandpropertydamage.Avoidexcessive
heatingwhichmayignitetheworkareaormaterialbehinditbycontinuousmovementoftheheat
gunovertheworkarea.
• Keep a fire extinguisher near the work area.Heatgunsarecapableofigniting
ammablematerialsinoraroundtheworkarea.
• Do not use near flammable liquids or in explosive atmospheres
containing fumes, gases, or dust.Flamelessheatfromtheheatgunmayignitethe
dustorfumes.Allmaterialsordebriswhichmaybeignitedshouldberemovedfromtheworkarea.
• Shield materials around the heated work areatopreventpropertydamageor

• Always hold the heat gun by its handle. Donottouchthenozzleoraccessorytips,
allowthemtocontactammablematerial,orstoretheheatgununtilthenozzlehascooledtoroom
temperature.Themetalnozzlemayrequire20minutesormoretocooladequatelybeforeitcanbe
touched.Contactingtheheatednozzleoraccessorytipscancausepersonalinjury.Whilecooling,
theheatgunshouldbeplacedinaclearareaawayfromcombustiblematerialswhilecoolingto
preventammablematerialsfromigniting.
