Overview

The Geo-Fennel FL 245HV+ is a rotating laser level designed for a wide range of horizontal and vertical measuring tasks, including setting heights, horizontal and vertical planes, and right angles. It is suitable for both interior and exterior applications, offering robust dust/water protection with an IP65 rating.

Function Description:

The FL 245HV+ features automatic self-leveling, indicated by a flashing laser diode upon power-on. Once self-leveled, the laser begins rotating. If the laser is set up outside its self-leveling range, it will not rotate, signaling the need for placement on a more even surface. The device offers variable scanning and laser point modes, as well as a permanent 90° plumb beam. An automatic TILT alarm function alerts the user if the level is disturbed, stopping rotation and flashing the TILT LED. It also includes an auto-shut-off feature when out of level. Manual slope setting is available for both X and Y axes, allowing for precise gradient work up to ±5° (9%). The instrument can be operated via its integrated keypad or a remote control, which has a range of up to 100 meters. The remote control function can be disabled on the instrument to prevent interference from multiple units on a construction site.

For horizontal use, the instrument can be set up on an even surface or mounted on a tripod. For vertical use, the integrated floor mount can be unfolded, allowing the laser to be placed in a lay-down position. In this orientation, the laser automatically self-levels, and the circular bubble should be accurately set using the two thumb screws to ensure the instrument is within its self-leveling range and the rotating beam is centered over its datum point.

The instrument's keypad includes buttons for power on/off, rotating speed (300 or 800 rpm), remote control function on/off, and TILT mode. The TILT mode is automatically enabled after self-leveling, and if the level is disturbed, the rotation stops and the TILT LED flashes. Pressing the TILT button once disables the TILT mode, allowing rotation without tilt protection. Pressing it twice restarts the self-leveling procedure and re-enables TILT mode.

The remote control provides additional functionalities such as slope mode (for setting X and Y axis slopes), scan function (long scan line, short scan line, or dot mode), and scan direction adjustment. It also allows for changing the rotating speed.

It automatically powers off when batteries are empty or if it does not receive a laser beam or is not operated for 10 minutes. The receiver allows selection of accuracy settings (fine, normal, coarse) and units of measure (millimeter, centimeter, inch, inch fraction). Sound and display illumination can be toggled. A unique feature is the "relative 0-position" setting, allowing the user to define a new zero point within a ±20 mm range of the standard 0-position.

Maintenance Features:

Measuring instruments should be handled with care. After use, clean the instrument with a soft cloth, dampened with water if necessary. Ensure the instrument is perfectly dry before packing it away. Transport should always be in the original container or case. Batteries should be removed if the receiver will not be used for a long period to prevent leakage. For repairs or adjustments, disconnect batteries or rechargeable batteries from the instrument for safety reasons. The manufacturer provides a two-year warranty against defects in material and workmanship under normal use. Periodic checks of the product's accuracy and general performance are recommended.
