Why can't I control the fan speed on my GIA Aquanatura AGNS12MIS2-INT Air Conditioner?

The fan speed on your GIA Air Conditioner cannot be controlled when it is operating in DRY or SLEEP mode. Additionally, fan speed control is disabled during COOL AIRFLOW TEST or DEFROST mode. In HEAT mode, the fan motor may stop, and fan speed cannot be controlled if the air conditioner switches to antifreeze mode in COOL or DRY modes. Also, when the air conditioner is in COOL or DRY mode, if the air conditioner enters freeze prevention mode, the speed cannot be controlled. Finally, in HEAT mode, if the air conditioner enters heating overload prevention mode, fan speed is also uncontrollable.
