C. Conguring S/PDIF Out:
The S/PDIF out jacks can transmit audio signals to an external decoder for decoding to get the best audio
quality. Install the S/PDIF in and out cable (or connect a S/PDIF optical cable to the optical S/PDIF out con-
nector on the motherboard back panel) if you want to output S/PDIF digital audio signals to an external de-
coder.

Connect a S/PDIF coaxial cable or a S/PDIF optical cable (either one) to an external decoder for transmitting
the S/PDIF digital audio signals.

On the Digital Output screen

, click the Default Format tab and then select the sample rate and bit
depth. Click OK to complete.
(Note) Enter the Digital Output(Optical) screen to congure further settings if you use the S/PDIF Out
connector(s) on the back panel for digital audio output or enter the Digital Output screen if you
use the internal S/PDIF In/Out connector (SPDIF_IO) for digital audio output.
