HOW TO OPERATE THE SHAVEMASTER II

Locking Knob Operation

Pull and turn to "unlock" main shaft. Ensure motor is "OFF".

Main Shaft Safety

Rotates when motor is "ON". Keep fingers away from it.

Hand Wheel Adjustment

Rotate for main shaft to maintain height.

Ice Compartment Latch

Open door latch, place ice block, close and relatch door.

Shaving Pressure Knob

Rotate clockwise "finger tight" to put pressure on the ice block.

Blade Fineness Knob

Rotate to minimum shaving height for fine snow.

Hawaiian Ice Cup Handling

Hold cup below discharge area, then "shape" by hand. Wear gloves.

On-Off Switch Control

Start shaving process here or by using #1008 Foot Switch.

SPECIFICATIONS

DETAILED OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

Installation Requirements

Ensure machine is installed on sturdy, level, and waterproof surface.

Ice Block Softening

Allow ice to soften 1½ hour prior to shaving for fluffy ice.

Main Shaft Locking Procedure

Raise main shaft using handwheel after unlocking.

Front Shield Operation

Open front shield by releasing safety latch and pulling forward.

Ice Block Placement

Place ice block on shaving platter, centering it.

Main Shaft Lowering

Lower main shaft until spikes embed in ice block.

Front Shield Closure

Close front shield and reattach safety latch.

Shaving Pressure Knob Adjustment

Turn Shaving Pressure Knob clockwise to stop for pressure.

Main Power Switch

Turn "ON" main power switch; motor won't run if shield is open.

Shaved Ice Fineness Control

Turn knob below platter to desired fineness of shaved ice.

Shaving Pressure Knob Function

Adjusts pressure on ice; clockwise increases pressure and coarseness.

Shaving Texture Knob Function

Adjusts blade height for ice texture; clockwise for coarse, counterclockwise for fine.

ICE BLOCK FREEZING TIPS

Ice Mold Usage

Use Gold Medal's plastic Ice Mold with Lid (Part No. 1085) for freezing blocks.

Water Level Filling

Fill container with cool tap water to 1½" from the top rim.

Lid Sealing Procedure

Firmly press lid onto container until it snaps shut.

Freezer Temperature

Set freezer to 10-15° F and stack molds to slow freezing.

Freezing Time

Let water freeze completely for approximately 24-30 hours for best results.

Post-Freezing Handling

Remove block and place in Gold Medal clear bags (Part No. 3064).

CLEANING PROCEDURES

Exterior Cleaning

Wipe exterior with a soft cloth dipped in mild dish detergent and warm water.

Interior Shaving Chamber Cleaning

Detailed steps for dismantling, washing, and reassembling internal components.

MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES

Lubrication of Drive Shaft and Crank

Keep main shaft lubricated with Gold Medal Gear Lube; oil crank through holes.

Shaver Blade Replacement

Instructions for removing, replacing, and adjusting the shaver blade.

BLADE ASSEMBLY AND ADJUSTMENT

Component Removal

Remove thumb screws and platter from support casting.

Blade Adjustment Knob Settings

Tighten and then loosen blade adjustment knob by specified revolutions.

Blade Clamp Screw Loosening

Loosen screws holding blade clamp and shaving base.

Blade Straightness Adjustment

Adjust blade for straightness and spacing on a flat surface.

Blade Gap Adjustment

Ensure 1/8" gap between blade and slot before tightening base screws.

Blade Clamp Tightening

Tighten blade clamp screws after ensuring blade is straight.

Final Assembly Check

Ensure all screws are tight before placing platter back on support casting.
