Do you have a question about the Golight Radioray 2000 and is the answer not in the manual?
The Golight® RadioRay® is a sophisticated remote-controlled searchlight designed for off-road and utility use, offering advanced lighting capabilities and robust construction. This device is engineered for permanent attachment to a vehicle or boat, providing a powerful and versatile lighting solution.
The primary function of the Golight® RadioRay® is to provide directional illumination through a remote-controlled searchlight. It allows the operator to precisely control the light's direction, making it ideal for various off-road and utility applications where a fixed light source might be insufficient. The system comprises a searchlight unit and a wireless remote control, enabling flexible operation from a distance. The light is designed to be mounted externally on a vehicle or boat, ensuring optimal beam movement and coverage.
The Golight® RadioRay® is available in several models, including 2000, 2051, 20004, and 20514. It features a 2-speed searchlight with directional flexibility. Rotation and Tilt: The searchlight offers a full 370° horizontal rotation and a 135° vertical tilt, controlled with fingertip precision. The light can rotate approximately 185° to the left and 185° to the right from its normal forward direction. Vertically, the beam can angle down about 45° and up to 90°. Light Source: The RadioRay® utilizes either Cr5 PentaBeam™ technology in a halogen configuration or state-of-the-art P-Vex™ lens and LED technology. For halogen models, it uses a Philips® H-9 bulb. Power Requirements: The device operates on 12 Volt DC power. It is not polarity sensitive and requires a 10 Amp fuse on a dedicated circuit or an appropriate automotive relay system. Remote Control: The wireless remote control operates at 433MHz and offers 2187 different programmable channels, allowing users to change channel selections to avoid interference. The remote has a range of up to 80 feet, depending on conditions. It is powered by two A23 12V batteries. Compliance: The RadioRay® complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules, meaning it must not cause harmful interference and must accept any interference received. Durability: The device is built for durability, with a three-year limited warranty covering defects due to workmanship or faulty materials, excluding halogen lamps. Mounting the light upside down will void the warranty.
Remote Control Operation: The light is turned on and off using the on/off button on the remote. Directional control is achieved via 4-way arrows on the remote. Speed Control: The speed of the light's rotation can be adjusted using the tortoise/hare button on the remote, allowing for precise or rapid movement. Mounting: The searchlight is designed for permanent mounting. The base includes a small arrow indicating the normal forward direction. A black rubber gasket is used as a footprint for marking mounting holes. A 1/4-inch hole is required for the power cord, with silicone sealant recommended to seal the opening. It is crucial to leave 3 inches of cord under the light to ensure full 370° rotation. Screw or bolt fasteners appropriate to the mounting surface should be used. For covering screw heads, #8 round head screws are recommended with the provided plastic caps. The black gasket should be installed on the lamp base, with its small drain hole facing opposite the vehicle's forward direction. Silicone or other sealants should not be used around the base gasket, as this can impede proper water drainage. Programmable Remote: The remote control can be programmed to avoid outside interference. This involves disconnecting power, removing the battery cover, setting 7 dip switches to a desired position (positive, negative, or neutral), inserting batteries, and then performing a sequence of button presses while reconnecting power. Included Components: Each RadioRay® unit includes the searchlight, a wireless remote control, two A23 12V batteries, a permanent mounting gasket, and a rockguard (not applicable for LED units).
Bulb Replacement: For halogen models, the Philips® H-9 bulb can be replaced. Replacement bulbs and other parts are available through Golight, Inc. Battery Replacement: The remote control batteries (two A23 12V batteries) need to be replaced when depleted. This involves removing a phillips head screw to access the battery compartment. Only 12V-A23 batteries should be used. Information regarding proper disposal/recycling of batteries is available from Golight. Warranty Service: In case of warranted failure, the light and remote controls should be sent to Golight, Inc. Service Department, postage paid, with a $9.95 shipping and handling fee. Only the manufacturer is authorized to perform warranty repair or replace the product. Care and Precautions:
End of Life: For information regarding proper disposal and recycling of the light, users should contact Golight.
