Overview

This document provides assembly instructions and information for a greenhouse.

Function Description

The device is a greenhouse designed for cultivating plants by providing a controlled environment. It is assembled from various aluminum profiles and polycarbonate panels, creating a structure that protects plants from external weather conditions while allowing sunlight to penetrate. The greenhouse includes a door for access and windows for ventilation.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Model Number: 502227748 (also referred to as NBK250W in some language sections).
  • Dimensions:
    • Length: 250 cm (250L)
    • Width: 190 cm (190W)
    • Height: 207 cm (207H)
  • Frame Material: Extruded aluminum profiles.
  • Panel Material: Polycarbonate sheets.
    • The polycarbonate sheets have a protective film on both sides. The white film side is UV-protected and must face the sun. The transparent side is without UV-protection. It is recommended to remove about 5 cm of the UV-protective white film from all edges before installation to prevent it from being trapped under the frame.
  • Door: One main door for entry and exit.
  • Windows: Includes windows for ventilation.
  • Base: Designed to be positioned and fixed on a flat, level surface. Anchoring to the ground (e.g., by pouring legs into the ground or using pre-drilled holes in a solid concrete foundation) is required for stability.

Usage Features

  • Assembly: The assembly process is multi-part and is estimated to take 2-3 days. It requires at least two people for measuring, marking, and installation. High-power electric tools are recommended for assembly.
  • Site Selection: Choose a sunny, level position away from overhanging trees. Ensure no hidden pipes or cables are in the ground before inserting pegs.
  • Ventilation: The greenhouse is equipped with windows that can be opened and closed to control internal temperature and airflow.
  • Door Operation: The door is designed for easy access. A door stopper (L2) is included, and its appropriate location should be determined before installation.
  • Panel Installation: Polycarbonate panels are inserted into grooves in the aluminum frame using hexagonal screws and nuts. The UV-protected side of the panels must face outwards towards the sun.
  • Structural Integrity: It is crucial not to fully tighten screws and nuts until all wall and roof panels are in place to allow for proper alignment and fitting of parts.
  • Safety:
    • Always wear work gloves, shoes, and safety goggles during assembly.
    • Long-sleeve cotton overalls are recommended.
    • Keep children away from the assembly area.
    • Do not attempt assembly in windy or wet conditions.
    • Do not touch overhead power cables with aluminum profiles.
    • Do not lean against or push the greenhouse during construction.
    • Do not position the greenhouse in an area exposed to excessive wind.
    • Do not assemble if tired, under the influence of drugs/alcohol, or prone to dizzy spells.
    • Use step ladders or power tools according to manufacturer's safety advice.
    • Dispose of plastic bags safely, keeping them out of reach of small children.
    • Be careful with blunt tools like hammers.
    • When installing parts above, protect yourself from potentially dripping parts.
    • No climbing or standing on the roof to avoid falling.
    • Do not store hot items (e.g., grills, blowtorches) inside the greenhouse.
    • Have an emergency medicine cabinet readily available.

Maintenance Features

  • Cleaning:
    • For general cleaning, use a mild detergent solution and rinse with clean water.
    • Do NOT use acetone, abrasive cleaners, or other special detergents on the clear panels.
    • Keep the PC (polycarbonate) sheets clean to maintain light transmittance. Generally, PC sheets last 5-10 years before their light transmittance may be affected.
    • If white dots appear on the aluminum in hot and humid weather, wipe them off with a cloth.
  • Frame Maintenance:
    • Regularly check and straighten the frame if it becomes crooked due to frost heave or uneven ground.
    • Ensure all screws in the frame are tightened in spring and autumn. Replace any significantly rusted screws and connectors promptly to maintain structural stability.
    • Avoid overloading the frame. Do not allow climbing plants (e.g., vegetables, grapes) to grow on the roof, as their weight combined with wind or heavy rain can cause damage or collapse.
  • PC Sheet Maintenance:
    • Avoid contact with sharp objects on the panels to prevent scratches or damage.
    • If a cut or hole appears, it can be repaired with glue or transparent tape.
    • Keep polycarbonate sheets away from fire and heat sources to prevent melting and deformation.
  • Bad Weather Precautions:
    • Lightning: Do not stay inside the greenhouse during lightning storms, as the aluminum frame is conductive.
    • Storms (wind speeds up to 70 km/h): Ensure the greenhouse is firmly anchored to the ground. Use strong ropes or wires to secure all four corners to ground anchor blocks or nearby trees (at least 10 cm in diameter). Be aware of changing weather conditions and remove ropes/wires when the storm passes to prevent damage to passersby.
    • Snow: Remove snow promptly from the roof to prevent collapse. If snow cannot be removed in time, use solid wooden boards to support the polycarbonate panels in the center and middle of the roof.
    • Leaves: Clear fallen leaves from the roof to ensure optimal light penetration and heat retention.
