Do you have a question about the Gorenje GBF 50 and is the answer not in the manual?
This document is a user manual for the Gorenje GBFU 50-150E/V6 electric water heater, providing instructions for installation, operation, and maintenance in multiple languages, including English.
The Gorenje GBFU 50-150E/V6 is an electric water heater designed to provide hot water for domestic use. It can be connected to the water supply in two ways: a closed-circuit pressure system, which allows for several points of use, or an open-circuit gravity system, which supports only a single point of use. The water heater features an electronic thermostat for temperature regulation and a protective anti-corrosion magnesium anode to ensure durability. It is equipped with heating elements that warm the water within the tank. The device is designed for either vertical or horizontal wall mounting, with specific requirements for pipe orientation in the horizontal configuration.
The GBFU series water heaters come in various capacities, ranging from 50 to 150 liters, with corresponding dimensions and weights. All models share several core technical specifications:
Specific models have different capacities, weights, and heating times:
| Model | Volume [l] | Weight / Filled with water [kg] | Heating time to 75 °C [h] | Quantity of mixed at 40°C [l] | Energy consumption [kWh/24h] |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| GBFU 50 E/V6 | 50 | 24/74 | 1:55 | 96/80 | 1.32/1.45 |
| GBFU 80 E/V6 | 80 | 30/110 | 3:05 | 151/130 | 1.85/2.10 |
| GBFU 100 E/V6 | 100 | 34/134 | 3:55 | 199/174 | 2.20/2.45 |
| GBFU 120 E/V6 | 120 | 38/158 | 4:35 | 238/210 | 2.60/2.90 |
| GBFU 150 E/V6 | 150 | 44/194 | 5:45 | 296/260 | 3.20/3.60 |
The heating time is calculated for the entire volume of the heater with an electric immersion heater, assuming a cold water supply temperature of 15°C. Energy consumption is measured to maintain a stable water temperature of 65°C at an ambient temperature of 20°C, in accordance with EN 60379.
The water heater is ready for use after being connected to the water and power supply. Users can set the desired water temperature between 10°C and 75°C by turning a rotating knob on the control panel.
Control Panel Settings:
Signal Lamp Indications: The signal lamp on the control panel provides feedback on the heating element's status and the anti-corrosion magnesium anode's condition:
A bimetal thermometer on the housing indicates the water temperature, with its pointer rotating clockwise as water heats up.
Freezing Protection: To protect against freezing, the water heater should be set to the '*' position (10°C) without disconnecting power. If power is disconnected, the water heater must be thoroughly drained before freezing conditions begin.
Discharging Water: Water can be discharged via the inlet pipe, ideally through a special T-fitting or discharge tap installed between the relief valve and the heater inlet pipe. Alternatively, it can be discharged directly through the relief valve by rotating its handle or cap to the "check operation" position. Before draining, the heater must be disconnected from the power supply, and the hot water tap on the mixer tap should be opened. After draining through the inlet pipe, any remaining water can be discharged by removing the heating flange.
Regular maintenance is crucial for the water heater's faultless performance and long lifespan.
