About 4K Conversion
Four inputs/outputs are used for 4K conversion, the first in the group is the valid source as
shown in the Video I/O Conversion menu example.
MatchDef and SetDef modes are set in the Video I/O, I/O Config menu with an FC (Format
Conversion) board selected.
V-series system with Conversion I/O
MatchDef Merge and Branch
A MatchDef Branch or Merge is performed during conversion on a stream input to the
Frame, based on the Frame Operating Mode (Video Settings menu). For example, if the
Frame Operating Mode is set to 4K 2SI and a 1080p stream is received on the input, the
1080p stream will be upscaled to 4K and branched into four 1080p streams. This is
highlighted in the menu by the word
Branch and a blue bracket under the four physical
board inputs.
Conversely, if the Frame Operating Mode is set to 1080p and a 4K 2SI stream is received on
an input, it is downscaled and merged into one 1080p signal. This is highlighted in the
menu by the
Merge label along with a blue bracket under the four physical inputs.
Note: 2160p signals are received and transmitted as a single 12G-SDI
stream.
IMPORTANT: Make sure the source definitions for 4K are defined correctly
in the Source Definition menu.
