Inspect that the Radome for the following:
Q Radome is grounded with no corrosion
Q Lightning Arrestors are grounded and in proper condition
Q Radome is not pitted and absorbing water
Q Excessive layers of paint
Q Metallic particles in paint
4.1.5 Waveguide
Inspect the waveguide for:
Q Chaffing
Q Kinks
Q Dents
Q Excessive bends
Q Corrosion
4.1.6 Antenna Array
Inspect the antenna array for
Q Dents
Q Distortion
Q Corrosion
4.1.6.1 Foreign Material
Inspect the radar system for (clean if required):
Q Excessive Dust, Sand, Dirt, etc.
Q Fluids (Water, Hydraulic Fluid, etc.)
Q Debris
4.2 PERIODIC MAINTENANCE
4.2.1 MT-1508A
The dust filter within the MT-1508A (mounting tray for the IU-1507B) requires periodic cleaning. The
filter should be removed and cleaned.
It is recommended that the filter be cleaned every 500 hours (when maintenance is performed on the DA-
1203B) under normal conditions. If the aircraft is operating in a high dust environment, frequent cleaning
of the filter may be required.
