WATER TRUCK TROUBLESHOOTING
PROBLEM CAUSES SOLUTIONS
WATER CANNON
The water cannon does not
travel up & down or left &
right, or operates erratically
(Elkhart Brass).
The position sensor does not
sense the location of the arm on
the water cannon.
Replace the vertical and/or horizontal location sensor(s).
A defective receiver module. Replace the receiver module. Follow manufacturer’s
instructions for programming the receiver to the remote
control.
The water cannon does not
travel up & down or left & right
(Hydraulic).
The hydraulic solenoid is not
energizing.
Check for a bad fuse and verify the fuse size is correct.
Repair the damaged wiring or defective valve. Replace the
fuse.
Check the solenoid to see if there is power to the coil, re-
place the coil or the solenoid if they are bad. If there is no
power to coil, check for a short, broken wire or a bad con-
nector and verify the coil is energizing. Repair or replace
as needed.
Check the wiring going to the joystick to make sure the
wires are making good contact and the joystick is getting
power, repair as required.
The water cannon
moves too fast
(Hydraulic).
The water cannon motor is
receiving more than the rated
0.5 GPM ow.
Install or replace the ow control cartridge to limit the wa-
ter cannon hydraulic motor ow to the 0.5 GPM.
