With reference to Figure 4-2 , at the ampere-turn balance point, if:
 Nx = number of turns in variable comparator winding
 Ns = number of turns in slave fixed comparator winding
 Is = current in the slave winding and Rs
 Ix = current in the variable comparator winding and Rx
 Vd = bridge voltage imbalance

 Ic = core offset current
and:
 Vos = the combined offset due to thermal voltage
