System introduction
While driving at high speed on straight,
smooth highways, the cruise assist sys-
tem allows the user to keep the vehicle
at a certain speed without stepping on
the accelerator pedal. When the system
detects that the driving speed of preced-
ing vehicles is less than the cruise speed
set by your vehicle, the vehicle will fol-
low the preceding vehicle at a set safe
distance.
Vehicles equipped with the TJA mode
can also keep driving in the middle of
the lanes while cruising.
WARNING
The cruise assist system is only an
auxiliary tool and is not a substitute
for the driver's judgment of road and
trac conditions, nor it can replace
the driver's driving. In any case, the
driver should be responsible for the
safety of the vehicle and always
concentrate on driving carefully.
When cruise assist system is not in
use, turn it o to avoid incorrect op-
eration.
Incorrect use of cruise assist system
may result in a crash.
The cruise assist system can only be
used when driving on a clear road in
good weather conditions.
The cruise assist system is not rec-
ommended for use in conditions
such as urban areas, winding roads,
narrow roads, wet and slippery
roads, heavy rain or other harsh
weather conditions.
When driving on a slope, the cruise
assist system is not recommended,
based on the following points:
The cruise assist system cannot
maintain the set speed when driving
up and down the slope.
After a preceding vehicle has passed
the top or bottom of a slope, the
cruise assist system may not detect
the preceding vehicle, causing sud-
den acceleration or late braking.
