7. After the flow has
stopped, fully
compress the
adsorbent pad in the
Extractor with the
plunger. Discard the
contents of the
beaker. Withdraw the
plunger slowly from
the Extractor.
Note: The adsorbent pad
should remain at the
bottom of the Extractor
when the plunger is
removed. Recompress
with the plunger if the
pad has retracted with
the plunger.
8. Place a 25-mL
sample cell under the
Extractor. Using a
25-mL plastic
graduated cylinder,
add 25 mL of pPb-3
Eluant Solution to the
Extractor.
9. After the Eluant
Solution has started
to drip from the
Extractor, insert the
plunger and slowly
force the remaining
Eluant Solution
through the Extractor.
Fully compress the
adsorbent pad. The
volume in the sample
cell should be 25 mL.
