Overview

This document is an operation and installation manual for a Haier Heat Pump Water Heater, specifically models HP80M5 and HP110M5. It provides comprehensive information on the device's function, technical specifications, usage, and maintenance.

Function Description

The Haier Heat Pump Water Heater utilizes a heat pump system to efficiently heat water. A low-pressure liquid refrigerant is vaporized in the evaporator and then compressed, increasing its temperature. This heated refrigerant then flows through a condenser coil within the storage tank, transferring its heat to the water. As the refrigerant cools and condenses, it passes through an expansion valve, reducing its pressure, and the cycle repeats. This process allows for energy-efficient water heating by extracting heat from the ambient air. The appliance also includes an electric backup heater for faster heating or when the heat pump alone is insufficient. It features various operating modes, including Auto, ECO (off-peak), Electric heating, and Holiday mode, to optimize energy consumption and user comfort. Safety features include electrical leakage protection, 3-minute protection for the compressor, automatic defrosting, overload protection, and an anti-freezing function.

Usage Features

The water heater is designed for user-friendly operation with a clear display panel and intuitive controls.

  • Operating Modes:
    • Auto Mode: Optimizes heat pump and electric heater management for guaranteed comfort, prioritizing the heat pump and activating auxiliary power if the compressor runs continuously for more than 8 hours (adjustable in installer settings).
    • ECO (Off-peak) Mode: Prioritizes the heat pump, with two options for activation: timer-based (referring to LP parameter) or switch signals from power companies.
    • Electric Heating Mode: Activates the electric heating function to ensure hot water supply when the heat pump is not operating optimally.
    • Holiday Mode: Allows users to pre-set vacation dates and desired temperature, with the heat pump automatically starting heating at 00:00 on the fourth day before return.
  • Boost Mode: Activates both the heat pump and auxiliary power simultaneously for rapid heating (available only in Auto mode).
  • PV Function: When enabled and an effective PV signal is received, the setting temperature automatically adjusts to 65°C, and both the heat pump and electric heating are turned on.
  • SG Signal: Upon receiving an SG signal, the setting temperature automatically adjusts to 65°C, and the heat pump heats according to this logic.
  • Peak/Off-peak Hours Mode: Displays the "HC" symbol when active, indicating peak/off-peak hours.
  • Anti-legionella Function: Automatically activates every 7 days to heat the tank to 65°C, preventing Legionella bacteria growth.
  • Temperature Setting: Default temperature is 55°C, with a setting range of 35°C-75°C when the heater is active.
  • Installer Settings: A dedicated menu (accessed by pressing power off, then '+' and 'SET' for 10 seconds) allows professional installers to configure advanced parameters such as off-peak signal type, off-peak logic type, anti-legionella activation, compressor maximum continuous working time, day of the week setting, and auxiliary heating in off-peak time.

Maintenance Features

Regular maintenance is crucial for optimal performance and extended lifespan of the water heater. All maintenance and electrical connections must be performed by qualified professionals with the power supply disconnected.

  • Safety Valve Check: Operate the safety valve at least once every six months to ensure proper functioning. Replace if blocked or malfunctioning. The water drain pipe connected to the safety valve must be open to the atmosphere, unblocked, and installed in a frostless environment with a continuous downwards inclination.
  • Hydraulic Circuit Check: Verify the watertightness of all water connections.
  • Fan Cleaning: Check the cleanliness of the fan annually.
  • Evaporator Cleaning: Clean the evaporator regularly using a soft-haired brush. Carefully realign bent fins to avoid affecting performance. Caution is advised due to sharp fins.
  • Condensate Discharge Pipe Check: Ensure the pipe is clean and free of obstructions to prevent poor condensate flow or water accumulation in the heat pump's plastic base.
  • Magnesium Rod Check: The magnesium anode should be checked every 2 years and replaced in time to prevent tank corrosion. In areas with poor water quality, the checking interval should be shortened.
  • Draining the Water Tank: To drain the tank, cut off the power supply, shut down the water inlet valve, and then drain via the sewage outlet. Exercise caution as the water may be hot.
  • Fault Indication: The display panel provides digital indications (e.g., F2, E1, L7) for various faults such as operating temperature protection, electricity leakage, over-temperature, sensor faults, communication faults, pressure switch protection, ambient temperature protection, and fan faults, aiding in troubleshooting. After a fault is resolved, switching the power supply on will release the error.
