1. Locate the battery
compartment below
the eyepiece or on
the right-hand side
of the unit. Flip the
tab to create a small
handle and turn
counterclockwise,
or press the tension
tab toward the front
of the unit and lift to
remove the lid.
2. Insert the CR2
battery, or two AAA
batteries into the
compartment. The
CR2 battery should
be installed negative
side facing in and
positive side facing
the cap.
5. Locate and press the
power button briefly
to turn the unit on.
6. To focus the unit,
locate the adjustable
eye piece. Turn left
or right until the
image in the range
finder comes into
focus.
Press and release the Start button one time to
start ranging. When the unit is done measuring,
the data will be displayed on the screen.

The battery indicator is always shown. The
battery level can be constantly monitored.
To clean the lenses use the cleaning cloth
provided with the laser rangefinder. Use a
circular motion when cleaning the lenses with
the cleaning cloth.
If you use anything other than the cleaning cloth,
make sure that is soft and not coarse, as this
may scratch the lenses.
You may also use isopropyl alcohol to clean the
lens, but always apply it to a soft cloth first and
never directly on the lens itself.

Overview

This document is the owner's manual for a Halo Optics Laser Rangefinder. It provides instructions on how to get started with the device, change modes, use the ranging function, understand low battery indications, and perform cleaning. It also includes warranty information and regulatory disclosures.

Function Description:

The Halo Optics Laser Rangefinder is a device designed to measure distances to targets using a laser. It offers different modes for displaying distances, including Line of Sight (LOS) and Angle Intelligence (AI™) distances, in both yards and meters. The AI™ technology compensates for the angle of incline or decline in terrain to provide a "True Distance" to the target, which is particularly useful for hunting and outdoor activities where terrain is not flat.

Usage Features:

  • Getting Started:
    • Battery Installation: The battery compartment is located below the eyepiece or on the right-hand side. It can accommodate either a CR2 battery (negative side facing in, positive side facing the cap) or two AAA batteries. The lid is removed by flipping a tab to create a handle and turning counterclockwise, or by pressing a tension tab and lifting.
    • Lanyard Installation: A hole for the lanyard is located on the bottom or rear of the rangefinder. One end of the lanyard is threaded through the hole, and the longer end is pushed through a small loop and pulled taut to secure it.
    • Power On/Off: The unit is turned on by briefly pressing the power button.
    • Focus Adjustment: The adjustable eyepiece can be turned left or right to bring the image into focus.
  • Changing Modes: The "Mode" button toggles between four primary modes:
    1. LOS (Line of Sight) Distance in Yards: Displays the direct line of sight distance to the target in yards.
    2. AI™ Distance in Yards: Displays the true distance in yards, compensating for vertical angle (incline/decline). The vertical angle is also displayed.
    3. LOS Distance in Meters: Displays the direct line of sight distance to the target in meters.
    4. AI™ Distance in Meters: Displays the true distance in meters, compensating for vertical angle. The vertical angle is also displayed.
    • Note: Not all Halo rangefinders are equipped with Angle Intelligence™ Technology. Users should verify their model's capabilities.
  • Ranging: To measure a distance, press and release the Start button once. The measured data will then be displayed on the screen. If a target is out of range or a measurement cannot be obtained, the display will show "----".
  • Battery Indicator: A battery indicator is always shown on the display, allowing constant monitoring of the battery level.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning Lenses:
    • Use the cleaning cloth provided with the rangefinder.
    • Clean the lenses using a circular motion.
    • If using an alternative cloth, ensure it is soft and not coarse to avoid scratching the lenses.
    • Isopropyl alcohol can be used, but it should always be applied to a soft cloth first, never directly to the lens.

  • Warranty: WGI Innovations, LTD offers a one-year workmanship warranty from the date of purchase. To activate the warranty, product registration is required at halooptics.com. The warranty covers workmanship defects but excludes damage from unauthorized repairs, alterations, improper connection, shipping, abuse, theft, accident, neglect, or collateral loss. For service, an RMA number must be obtained from WGI Innovations, LTD.
