Uneven wrapping of the cuff can
lead to inaccurate results.
7. Measuring blood pressure
It is recommended that blood
pressure measurements are car-
ried out whilst seated. Place your
arm with the palm upwards on a
support and make sure the cuff
is at the level of the heart.
Do not turn the device on until
the cuff has been applied, other-
wise the cuff can become dam-
aged through the resulting
excess pressure.
Press the START/STOP button. All
display symbols appear followed
by the last measured value. A
flashing arrow pointing down-
wards shows that the device is
checking itself automatically. A
beep sounds and the “0” appears
in the display which signals that
the unit is now ready to take a
new measurement. If the down-
ward arrow symbol is dis-
played, there is some air remain-
ing in the cuff. Release air using
the exhaust button until the “0”
appears.
Pressurize the cuff using the
pumping bulb until you have a
pressure value which is suitable
for you. It should be approxi-
mately 30 mmHg higher than
your regular systolic blood pres-
sure and is shown on the display.
When pressurization is com-
pleted, Tensoval compact
automatically begins the meas-
urement. If the cuff was not
inflated enough or if the meas-
urement is disturbed, the arrow
pointing upwards appears.
Pump again until a high enough
pressure is reached.
Important: do not move or talk
throughout the entire measur-
ing procedure.
As pressure in the cuff decreases,
the heart symbol and the falling
cuff pressure are displayed. A
beep sounds which is synchron-
ised with your heartbeat.
A beep indicates the end of
measurement. The systolic and
diastolic readings appear simul-
taneously on the display, with the
pulse rate appearing alternately
(see fig.)
