When going downhill
Switching off the vehicle or neutral
coasting is prohibited
The braking force assist device and power
steering system will not work if the vehicle is
shut down while driving downslope. In this
scenario, braking efficiency will be compromised
and you feel the steering wheel heavy, making
the occurrence of accidents more likely.
Driving on road surfaces with height
differences
When stopping the vehicle by a kerb or on a
road surface with a height difference, make
sure that the tires are not squeezed or
deformed from being pressed against the kerb
or other obstruction.
When it is necessary to drive over a kerb, a
speed bump or similar obstruction, as far as
possible, try to drive slowly at a right angle to
the obstruction. Failure to do so may result in
damage to the tires, especially the side walls.
The bumper is liable to be damaged when
driving in the following areas or when affected
by the scenarios. Slow down and drive with
caution.
Carpark entrances and exits with steps or
slopes.
Multi-storey carparks with sharp bends and
sections with steep slopes.
Uneven road surfaces and road sections
with wheel ruts from other vehicles.
Road sections with potholes.
When driving from a flat surface on to a
ramp, or from a ramp onto a flat surface.
When parking on a road with speed bumps
or along a kerb.
When driving on slippery road surfaces
(wet, snowy or icy)
Sudden braking, rapid acceleration and violent
steering on slippery road surfaces can easily
cause skidding and loss of control of the
vehicle, thus causing accidents.
When accelerating and decelerating, the engine
speed may make a significant change, it is
prone to occurring side slip and thus causing an
accident.
In cold weather slow down and drive slowly
across bridges, areas covered by a shadow and
other places prone to ice.
Driving on flooded roads
Take care when driving on flooded roads.
When driving on flooded roads the power
battery pack, the motor controller and other
parts of the electrical power system could
suffer serious damage.
When driving on flooded roads the brake pads
will get wet, which will weaken the effectiveness
of braking and could result in an accident.
Repeatedly and gently press the brake pedal to
heat the brakes until you can confirm they are
functioning normally.
Precautions for passengers
Do not move around inside the vehicle
Passengers should not leave their seats or move
around inside the vehicle. Otherwise, they may
be seriously injured by impact to their body and
head caused by emergency braking.
Do not stick hand or head out of car window
or sunroof
Sticking hand or head out of car may strike the
window frame during emergency braking or
when closing the window, and this may cause
serious injury or even death.
