13.4 Test of the data medium
No communication
with the data
medium
If there is no communication with the data medium when the control is started, usually the following
error message is displayed:
Boot: Giving up
Reason is: Load processes failed
or
DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER
8 Check, whether the HDR / SSDR is firmly in the slot, or check the data medium on a functioning
iTNC 530 HSCI (if available).
At present no further tests are possible in the field!
Communication

If the control still communicates with the data medium, some tests might be carried out in the field.

Here too, additional and more comprehensive tests can only be performed at HEIDENHAIN
agencies!
Attention
Do not use your own data medium test or repair programs!
Data recovery at HEIDENHAIN or a specialized company could thereby become more difficult
or even impossible.
