Does the multimeter
read a voltage in the range
of +/- 10 V?
Yes
No
Connect a multimeter to the terminal strip of the servo amplifier of the
axis to be checked . (Use the circuit diagram of the machine.)
The MC operates correctly.
The defect is probably due to
the analog servo amplifier
and its cables, to the motor,
etc.
Switch off the machine and disconnect the analog servo amplifier from
the speed command cable. Repeat the above procedure with the
disconnected servo amplifier.
Press EMERGENCY STOP, turn the feed-rate potentiometer
to zero and switch on the main switch of the machine.
Do not confirm the Power interrupted message but immediately
call the MP list. Note down the tolerance values for the movement
and following-error monitoring for the axes to be checked and increase
them: MP 1140.x : 9.99 [V]
MP 1410.x and MP 1420.x : 30 [mm]
MP 1710.x and MP 1720.x : 300 [mm]
Switch on the machine and set the position display to LAG.
Start the reference run for the defective axis (e.g., axis direction key).
Slowly turn up the feed-rate potentiometer and observe
the display of the multimeter.
Does the multimeter
read a voltage in the range
of +/- 10 V?
Yes
No
MC or speed command cable defective.
Analog axis does not move
Restore the original values for the movement and
following-error monitoring.
Shut down the control and switch off the main switch of the machine.
Note
If the control operates properly, a nominal speed command voltage can be read with the
above routine until the monitoring values (movement, following error, etc.) are reached.
