In particular, the inlet and outlet opening area must be protected by mounting extension ducts (for horizontal air flow
direction) or e.g. an on-site weather protection cover (end/beginning of a round/rectangular duct section for vertical
air flow direction).
The openings in the fan casing must be protected against the penetration of precipitation by a suitable installation
position (openings on side or below). In this respect, particular attention must be paid to the casing feed-through for
the supply line between the casing terminal box and motor connection.
3.3 Two-stage and parallel units
The various requirements concerning pressure increases, conveying capacities and space requirements are frequently
fulfilled by two-stage Z or parallel P units in the area of Technical Building Equipment (TGA). The Helios range (see sales
documents) offers corresponding mounting kits for the respective construction:

3.4 Bearing condition diagnostics
Type: LZD-Basic and LZD-Comfort
The Helios bearing condition diagnostics system serves to securely monitor the functionality of motor bearings in
the drive motor of the smoke extraction fan. The system optionally allows the early detection of imminent bearing
damage by constantly or occasionally monitoring the bearing conditions. The bearings are not replaced periodically,
but depending on the actual wear. In this respect, the test and maintenance plan in these Installation and Operating
Instructions must be observed. Before operation and the use of bearing condition diagnostics, the separate Installation
and Operating Instructions for the monitoring system must be observed.

Two-stage design / mounting kit MP-Z
Two fans connected in series (Fig.11) ensure the
unrivalled power density and advantageous installa-
tion due to minimum space requirement.
The two fans are arranged in sequence and
connected with extension ducts.

Scope of delivery:
- Extension ducts (2 pcs.) incl. mounting kit
(hexagon head screws, nuts, spring washers).
Parallel unit / mounting kit MP-P
Two fans connected in parallel (Fig.12) provide
large air volumes with the corresponding pressure
rate and they meet the requirements for garage
ventilation and smoke extraction in particular.
Two identical fans arranged side by side work in
the same duct system.
Scope of delivery:
- Extension ducts (2 pcs.),
- Backdraught shutters (2 pcs.),
- Mounting brackets (4 pcs.)
- Mounting rails (2 pcs.)
- Mounting kits (hexagon head screws, nuts, spring
washers, washers and threaded plate).
