Handset
A handset is used to change the bed height, backrest position, knee position,
and head and foot up and down positions.
Children must not be permitted to operate the controls or ride on the
bed. Incorrect operation of the bed may cause injury.
The type of handset will vary depending on the configuration and date of
manufacture.
The handset contains these bed position controls:
• Backrest
•HI/LO
• Knee-break
• Backrest/knee combined
•Chair
Backrest Operation
• To raise the backrest, press the Backrest Up control (A) until the
applicable position is reached (see figure 1-3 on page 1-7).
• To lower the backrest, press the Backrest Down control (B) until the
applicable position is reached.
HI/LO Operation
The occupied bed must be left at its lowest height position when
unattended to prevent accidents. Failure to operate the bed safely may
cause injury.
• To raise the bed, press the Bed Up control (C) until the applicable height is
reached.
• To lower the bed, press the Bed Down control (D) until the applicable
height is reached.
