Separated controller conguration
When designing a two contr
oller VSP G1000 or VSP G1500 system, the default system
conguration includes a primary and secondary controller chassis and each controller
chassis is installed in a separate rack. This specic layout is referred to as a Twin
Controller conguration and the racks are connected to each other.
For exibility in placing the system in a data center, the rack containing the primary
controller can be separated from the rack containing the secondary controller. The cable
length options to connect the two controllers are 5 meters (standard length), 30 meters,
and 100 meters. To avoid single points of failure, data and power cables can be
connected to the controllers in a redundant conguration. Redundant congurations
require that all cables to be the same length.
The following gure shows a two controller conguration with extended cabling between
the racks containing the two controllers.
