Installing a midplane drive cage
Observe the following:
•
A 1U heatsink is required for each processor when installing this option.
•
If you have a TPM, install it prior to this option.
•
If you have a type-a controller, install it prior to this option.
Prerequisites
Before you perform this procedure, make sure that the components included with the hardware option kit
are available.
Procedure
1.
Power down the server.
2.
Remove all power:
a.
Disconnect each power cord from the power source.
b.
Disconnect each power cord from the server.
3.
Do one of the following:
•
Extend the server from the rack.
•
Remove the server from the rack.
4.
Remove the access panel.
5.
Remove the air baffle.
The air baffle is no longer needed. The drive cage acts as an air baffle for the server
.
