● Make sure that no food protrudes beyond the storage height limit of

each compartment, and allow clearance between each food in each

compartment.

Otherwise, food and/or package may not be stored in each compartment properly, and as

a result, the door may not be closed completely. It may cause the refrigerator not to cool

sufciently and/or not to make ice.

  If ice cannot be made at all, check if “Off” is illuminated in the Display Section, which indicates that ice making is set to Stop Ice Making. To resolve this, set it to “On” or “Quick” mode. Also, check if "Water" is lit in the Display Section, indicating low water in the water supply tank. If the water in the tank is low, ice may not be made. Add water until the water level reaches the “Container-full line” of the water supply container. Ensure the water supply container is pushed firmly beyond the “Container set position” line, and that the frame is pushed into the rear until the lever slides right. Finally, ensure nothing other than ice is stored in the ice case.

  If your Hitachi Refrigerator is not cooling well, it might be because the unit was recently installed. Cooling may take more than 24 hours after installation. Ensure you place food at appropriate intervals, avoid opening and closing the door frequently, and allow sufficient time for cooling, especially during summer or when storing a large amount of food.

  If it takes a long time to make ice in your Hitachi Refrigerator, consider the following: Check if the ice case is filled with ice over the limit line of stored ice amount, and level the ice. Minimize door openings and ensure sufficient clearance between stored food items to facilitate cooling. Note that ice making may take longer in low surrounding temperatures or immediately after changing the setting from “Off” to “On”. Also, ensure that no food or package is preventing the Freezer or Ice Compartment doors from closing completely and that the “Energy Saving” mode is disabled.

  If the Control Panel of your Hitachi Refrigerator isn't responding, first check if the Display Section is lit. If not, the Operation Section may be locked; refer to Pg.62 to unlock it. Ensure the Refrigerator Compartment Door is closed. Wipe off any water drops or dirt from the Control Panel with a wet cloth, then dry it. Touch the panel directly with your finger, avoiding gloves or plasters, and ensure you're only touching the intended Control Panel.

  If the ice tray frame of your Hitachi Refrigerator cannot be drawn, it might be because “Off” is set. The ice tray cannot be drawn when the auto ice maker is operating. Set it to “Off”. When the “Off” indicator lamp is blinking, wait for 1 minute until “Off” is lit, and then draw the ice tray.
