Hobby King HD Wing Camera Quick Start Guide
If you are looking at the camera and the lens is facing to the right and the buttons are toward you, with the SD card slot on the
left, you will see three buttons, here is the easiest way of explaining how they work:
NOTE: Some newer cameras have a Red circuit board. Don’t worry, they are both the same and have the exact same functions
1. Button 1 (closest to the SD card):
a. To Power on, push and hold for a second or two (you will see a dim blue LED light come on.
Then wait for camera to initialize, it is initialized after a vibration.
i. Mode selection is done by cycling through the modes by quickly pushing button 1.
Look at the led lights to know which mode you are in. The camera starts in manual video
mode, and a blue led will be on.
ii. Manual photo mode: Push once after the camera is initialized, the blue led will switch
to a red led.
iii. Motion detection video mode: Push button 1 twice after the camera is initialized, the
blue led and a yellow led above the blue will be on. It is actually recording when motion
is detected and you will know because the blue led is flashing.
iv. Motion detection photo mode: Push button 1 three times after the camera is
initialized and a red and yellow led will be on.
v. TV mode: This mode is initialized when the AV cable is plugged in and is used for setup
(date/time, quality, timestamp, etc) a red and blue led will be on. Button 1, 2 and 3
will be used to change items in the menu, it is shown on the TV screen on the lower
right hand corner of the menu which buttons do what.
2. Button 2 (IMPORTANT!):
a. Push button 2 once to start/stop recording video or photo (depending on what mode you are in).
3. Button 3 is only really used in TV mode:
a. Moves selections up and down in the setup menu in TV mode. I haven’t found any other use for
this button.
4. Reset button (next to the AV port, a tiny button): Press and hold to reset the camera completely.
