FUEL
Fuel ller door
• Stop the engine.
• Unlock the doors.
• Open the fuel ller door by hand.
Note The fuel ller door will unlock when
the
button on the key is pressed.
Fuel cap
Remove the fuel cap by turning it slowly
anticlockwise.
Note The fuel cap can be stored on the
inside of the fuel ller door while lling up
with fuel.
WARNING
If you open the cap rapidly while
pressure in the tank is high, fuel
may spray out from the tank. Turn it
slightly to release the pressure from
inside the tank.
After refuelling, turn the fuel cap clockwise until a clicking sound is heard, then push
the fuel ller door closed. When closing the fuel door, make sure that it latches.
Fuel tanks should always be lled at the intermediate or fast ll rate. Do not add any
more fuel after the fuel ller rst clicks off or fuel blows back - as this allows room for
the fuel to expand inside the tank.
If you accidentally spill fuel on the vehicle’s exterior surfaces, it can damage the paint.
Wash it off as soon as possible.
Petrol ller nozzle restrictor
To help protect the atmosphere, your vehicle has been designed to operate on unleaded
petrol. A petrol nozzle restrictor is tted to ensure that only unleaded petrol is used.
This allows the smaller diameter unleaded petrol nozzle to open the hinged ap inside
the ller neck, so that petrol can be added to the tank. The leaded petrol nozzle is wider
and therefore cannot open the ap.
WARNING
The use of fuel, other than the fuel specied, may cause serious damage to your
vehicle and may void your warranty. Only clean fuel of good quality should be used.
