Descent Control System
(DCS)
The DCS system:
• Is only for driving down steep
grades.
• Works in conjunction with the
ABS to maintain the slow speed
descent of the vehicle.
• Is designed for off road driving
when moving over steep
gradients.
• May malfunction if used
unnecessarily - do not use DCS
when driving on normal roads.
• When activated, causes strong
vibrations and noise from the
brake system.
Activation
• Press below 40 km/h.
illuminates green on the
instrument cluster indicating
DCS is ready for use.
Operation
DCS operates, ashes, when :
• The vehicle speed is between
6 and 35 km/h.
• The vehicle is on a steep
gradient.
• The accelerator and brake
pedals are NOT pressed.
Deactivation
In certain circumstances, it may be
helpful to deactivate ESC.
1. Press for several seconds.
illuminates on the instrument
cluster.
ESC is reactivated by pressing
again.
Note
ESC may only be deactivated
below approximately 50 km/h.
If deactivated, ESC will reactivate
above approximately 50 km/h.
