The engine will not start if it is in any
other position. As a safety precaution,

If the engine does not start in 10 seconds, wait another 15 seconds to let the
starter motor cool down. Turn the key to START again with the accelerator
pedal pushed completely down to the oor for a maximum of 10 seconds. If the
engine still does not start, release the key and pedal. Wait another 15 seconds
and then repeat the entire procedure. If the engine still fails to start, contact your
Holden Dealer.
PETROL ENGINE WARNING
When trying to start the engine, do not hold the key in the start position for any extended
time, for if unburnt fuel were to reach the catalytic converter and ignite, the catalytic
converter could overheat or be destroyed by backre.
Note You should not subject the engine to high load conditions (for example full throttle
acceleration or high speeds) until it has completely warmed up. Otherwise, you may
cause premature engine wear or engine damage.
