EMERGENCIES
BLEEDING FUEL SYSTEM
If the vehicle has run out of fuel, air might have entered the fuel system. With air in the
fuel system, smooth ow of fuel into the engine is interrupted. To correct this, bleeding
of the fuel system should be performed (after refuelling) as follows:
1. Before starting the engine, turn the
ignition switch to the ON position. Wait
15 seconds. Return the switch to the
OFF position. Repeat this procedure
5 times.
2. After starting the engine, allow it to
idle for 10 minutes. Do not increase
the engine speed above idle.
3. If the engine could not be started,
perform the procedure again from
step 1.
Note Insufcient air bleeding may
cause the check engine indicator
light Z to illuminate or improper engine
performance. Contact your Holden Dealer.
