ENGINE OIL
Engine oil level
Check the oil level while the vehicle is
parked on level ground and the engine
is switched off and at normal operating
temperature.
Before checking the oil level, wait a few
minutes after switching the engine off, to
allow the oil to settle.
1. Remove the oil dipstick from the oil
level tube.
2. Wipe the dipstick clean.
3. Insert the dipstick back into the oil
level tube as far as it will go.
4. Wait for a few seconds before
removing the dipstick again.
The oil level should be maintained
between the two marks, neither going
above the MAX mark nor under the
MIN mark.
Note Remember to insert the dipstick
rmly after taking the reading.
To add oil
Use the correct oil for your vehicle. Refer
to Specications in chapter 8.
1. Remove the engine oil cap.
2. Add the required amount of oil.
3. Wait a few minutes for the oil to settle, then check the oil level again. When the oil
level is correct, replace the oil cap and dipstick and clean up any spilt oil.
Note Non-detergent and other low quality oils are specically not recommended.
The use of break-in oil, tune up compounds, friction reducing compounds and
other supplementary additives are not recommended. Their use would increase
costs, may be detrimental to the operation of your vehicle and may void your
New Vehicle Warranty, to the extent that Holden considers the non-recommended
uid to have affected the specications or quality of your vehicle.
