Setting a desired speed
1. With the cruise control main switch
on, apply the accelerator pedal until
the required speed is attained.
2. Press the SET/COAST button, located
on the end of the wiper/washer lever.
The cruise set light m on the instrument
panel illuminates to indicate that cruise
control is maintaining vehicle speed.
3. You can now remove your foot from
the accelerator pedal. The vehicle
speed will be maintained by the
cruise control.
Accelerating
If you require a short burst of speed, to overtake another vehicle for example, apply the
accelerator pedal. After passing the vehicle, release the accelerator pedal, the cruise
control will then reduce vehicle speed to the previously set speed.
Increasing the speed setting
There are three ways to increase the speed setting:
• Rotate the end of the lever to RES/ACC for less than 0.6 second. Each time you
rotate the lever to this position, the speed setting increases by 1.6 km/h.
• Rotate the end of the lever to RES/ACC and hold. The speed setting increases in
steps until you release the lever.
• Use the accelerator pedal to attain the required speed, then briey press the
SET/COAST button on the end of the lever.
Decreasing the speed setting
Decrease the speed setting using either of the following methods:
• Press the SET/COAST button for less than 0.6 second. Each time you press this
button, the speed setting decreases by 1.6 km/h.
• Press and hold the SET/COAST button. Release the button when the vehicle slows
to the desired speed.
Note Cruise control deactivates if the speed decreases below 40 km/h or the
SET/COAST button is used to reduce the cruise speed by more than 20 km/h.
