Air conditioning

The air conditioning is operational when the engine is running and the fan is on.
Press the n button, located on the ventilating and heating control panel to activate
the air conditioning. Set the fan position to 1, 2, 3, or 4 to begin air circulation. An
indicator light will illuminate on the button when the air conditioning is in use. Turn the
temperature control to the desired temperature.
Note
• To conserve fuel, switch off the air conditioner when it is not required.
• Once every two weeks, with the engine running, switch the air conditioner on for
ve to 10 minutes even in winter to lubricate seals.
Windscreen demisting
To demist the windscreen, air ows from the front demister outlets, with a small
amount owing from the side window demister outlets. To achieve this, move the air
selector to V, then select the air ow and air source required. If you require limited
demisting, set the air selector to 0. Air ows from the foot vents simultaneously, with
limited demisting.
Demisting can be accelerated in three ways: by the use of a higher air temperature,
increased airow or by activating the air conditioner

Note In high humidity conditions, operate the system for approximately 30 seconds
before selecting V to purge the air from the system.
Rear window demister

The ignition must be in the ON position to operate the demister. The demister switch is
located on the heater control panel.
To operate the rear demister press the Ü switch. The light in the demister switch
illuminates.
The rear window demister is tted with an auto cancel timer, which will switch the
demister OFF automatically after 10 minutes.
Switch the demister off manually by turning the ignition switch to ACC or by pressing
the Ü demister switch again.
WARNING
• Do not use any abrasive cleaner to clean the inside of the rear window. Normal
window cleaning can be done by using a commercial liquid ammoniated cleaner.
• Be careful not to scratch or damage the demister wires when cleaning the
rear window.
• The rear window demister draws a high battery current. Unnecessary use of the
rear window demister will drain your vehicle’s battery.
