• Avoid making hard stops for the
fi rst 350 km to avoid premature
wear and early replacement
of brakes.
• It is recommended that the new
vehicle be driven for at least
1,500 km before towing. See
Running-in when towing on
page 248 .
Rear axle run-in
If local statutory speed limits
and road and traffi c conditions
permit driving the vehicle at its top
speed, follow this additional run-in
procedure.
Before driving the vehicle at its top
speed for more than approximately
fi ve minutes, observe the following:
• During the fi rst 1,000 km, use
only moderate acceleration in
lower gears and avoid vehicle
speeds above 110 km/h.
• Heavy acceleration in lower
gears may be used between
1,000 km and 5,000 km.
• Vehicle speeds over 110 km/h
should be limited to fi ve minutes
per use.
Brakes
Do not let the vehicle run down hills,
or coast with the engine off as the
power assistance does not operate.
Ensure that nothing is under the
brake pedal which could limit their
use, such as poorly fi tting fl oor mats.
Continuous or heavy use of brakes
will shorten the life of the brake pads.
Power steering
The power steering fi tted to the
vehicle has been designed to reduce
steering effort.
Do not turn and hold the steering
wheel in the fully turned position
when stationary.
If power steering is not working, due
to the engine stalling for example,
the vehicle can still be steered. Have
the steering repaired as soon as
possible by a Holden Dealer.
Mobile phones
and CB radios
Use mobile phones and CB
equipment that utilise an antenna
fi tted to the outside of the vehicle
whenever possible.
If using mobile phones or CBs
with an integrated antenna inside
the vehicle, avoid using near the
dashboard area, as some functions
may be affected.
