Locking the tailgate
Use the handle to pull down the
tailgate then close rmly.
Press e on the key to lock all the
doors and tailgate.
If the tailgate is not closed properly
when the vehicle is locked, the horn
will chirp rapidly ve times. All doors
will lock except the tailgate.
Warning
To avoid injury and/or damage
to the vehicle, check each time,
before the tailgate is closed, that
the contact area is unobstructed.

Vehicle alarm system
• When e on the key is pressed or
when the vehicle is locked using
the key in the driver’s door lock,
the alarm is armed automatically
(after about 30 seconds).
The security warning lamp o
will illuminate for 30 seconds
then begin ashing on the
instrument panel.
The alarm system is disarmed
automatically when c on the key
is pressed.
While the alarm system is armed,
the boot/tailgate can still be
opened without activating the
alarm by pressing
s on the key.
The alarm will be disarmed for
the boot/tailgate only.
Closing the boot/tailgate will
rearm the alarm for the boot/
tailgate after a short delay.
Note
While the alarm is armed, it will
activate if:
Any door/tailgate is opened.
Any door/tailgate is unlocked
without pressing c on the key.
Activate/deactivate
If activated, the alarm sounds and
the turn signals ash.
To deactivate the alarm, do one of
the following:
Press the c button on the key.
Turn on the ignition.
Allow the alarm to time out after
about 30 seconds and reset
itself, to guard against further
break-in attempts.
