Chapter 4
DRIVING
PARK ASSIST
3
Depending on the model variant, the
vehicle may be equipped with one of the
following systems:
1.
Rear Park Assist (RPA) – this system
is able to detect and to indicate
obstacles at the rear of the vehicle
when reversing. The RPA consists of
sensors on the rear bumper, a control
unit and a speaker in the rear of the
vehicle’s interior.
2.
Dual Park Assist (DPA) – this system
is able to detect and to indicate
obstacles in front and at the rear of
the vehicle when manoeuvring. The
DPA consists of sensors on the front
and rear bumpers, a control unit and
speakers in the front and rear of the
vehicle’s interior.
WARNIN
G
• The driver is always responsible
for taking care and attention while
manoeuvring the vehicle. The Park
Assist is only an aid and is neither
intended to, nor able to take over any
responsibility.
•
The park sensors may not be able to detect all objects under every condition e.g.
objects too close to the vehicle, objects above or below the sensors, or objects with
a surface that absorbs ultrasonic waves. Additionally, some ambient conditions like
ultrasonic waves or heavy rain can cause disruptive reections from an object’s
surface. Such objects may not be detected.
•
Always manoeuvre the vehicle slowly to allow yourself sufcient time to react. The
warning tones will sound only while the vehicle’s speed is below 15 km/h.
ACTIVATING
Note A malfunction is indicated if a conrmation tone does not sound. The Park Assist
may not work properly during malfunction and you should manoeuvre the vehicle
with special care. Check the sensors and clean them if necessary. If the malfunction
persists, have the system checked by your Holden Dealer.
Rear Park Assist (RPA)
3
The RPA is activated automatically when:
• the ignition is switched on,
• the reverse gear is selected and
• the handbrake is released.
A short single conrmation tone will sound from the rear speaker to conrm that the
rear sensors are operational.
