Chapter 7
WEEKLY CHECKS
BRAKE FLUID
Brake uid level
WARNING
Brake uid is poisonous and corrosive
and will damage the paint nish of the
vehicle if spilt.
Check the brake uid level in the brake
uid reservoir weekly.
Checking the brake uid level
The uid level is visible through the brake
uid reservoir. Refer to Under bonnet
layout previously in this chapter for brake
uid reservoir location.
Maintain the level between the MIN and MAX markings.
If the uid is between these levels, do not remove the reservoir cap, as brake uid
exposed to the atmosphere will quickly absorb moisture.
Adding brake uid
1. Ensure that the ignition is switched off.
2. Wipe the sides of the cap clean and turn anticlockwise to remove.
3. Top up with heavy duty brake uid which meets Holden specications. Refer to
Specications in chapter 8 for the correct specication.
WARNING
Use only new brake uid. Use of old, used or inferior brake uid may endanger the
functioning of the brake system.
4. Secure the cap and clean up any spilt uid.
Note If the brake uid reservoir requires constant topping up it could indicate that a
fault exists. Contact your Holden Dealer immediately.
