Chapter 7
WEEKLY CHECKS
BRAKE FLUID
Brake uid level
WARNING
Brake uid is poisonous and corrosive
and will damage the paint nish of the
vehicle if spilt.
Check the brake uid level in the brake
uid reservoir weekly.
Checking the brake uid level
The uid level is visible through the brake
uid reservoir. Refer to Under bonnet
layout previously in this chapter for brake
uid reservoir location.
Maintain the level between the MIN and MAX markings.
If the uid is between these levels, do not remove the reservoir cap, as brake uid
exposed to the atmosphere will quickly absorb moisture.
Adding brake uid
1. Ensure that the ignition is switched off.
2. Wipe the sides of the cap clean and turn anticlockwise to remove.
3. Top up with heavy duty brake uid which meets Holden specications. Refer to
Specications in chapter 8 for the correct specication.
WARNING
Use only new brake uid. Use of old, used or inferior brake uid may endanger the
functioning of the brake system.
4. Secure the cap and clean up any spilt uid.
Note If the brake uid reservoir requires constant topping up it could indicate that a
fault exists. Contact your Holden Dealer immediately.
