9-6 Driving and Operating
Automatic
Transmission
Press the select button on the front
of the gear lever to move into any
position.
Transmission Display
When the gear lever position is
changed, an animation appears on
the display.
The selected gear is magnified and
changes as the gear lever is moved.
The animation appears on the
display for 2 seconds after the gear
is selected.
The lever position indicated at the
bottom of the display remains on,
indicating the currently
selected gear.
Note: If any warnings are active on
the display, the animation wi ll not be
shown. Only the indication at the
bottom of the display changes when
the gear lever is moved. See “Active
Select (A/S) mode” under Selector
Lever on page 9‑6.
Selector Lever
The engine will not start unless the
gear lever is in position P or N.
P: In park position the wheels are
locked. Apply the parking brake
before leaving the vehicle.
