When stopped on an incline, do
not hold the vehicle stationary
using the clutch. Use the parking
brake or foot brake.

When climbing a steep slope,
shift to a lower gear before the
engine starts to labour.

Shift to a lower gear before
descending a steep slope.

Do not over-rev the engine when
shifting to a lower gear.

V8, when vehicle speed is
14 km/h or less, engine speed is
limited to 5,000 RPM.
Brakes
Antilock Brake
System (ABS)
The ABS:
.
Continuously monitors the
vehicle s braking system
preventing the wheels from
locking.

Allows maximum braking effort
while retaining full steering
control, ev en in the event of
panic braking.

when driving. Traffic safety can
only be achieved by adopting a
responsible driving style. You
should always adjust the vehicles
speed to suit road and traffic

Operation
ABS operation is noticeable by
pulsing of the brake pedal and the
noise of the regulation process.
Keep the brake pedal fully
depressed throughout the braking
process, without pumping it.

CAUTION
When the ignition is switched on,
the
! warning light comes on
briefly. This self-check may be
audible.
If the
! warning light (ABS off)
on the instrument panel display
does not go off, or lights up when
