6. Attach the jack handle to the
jack and position the jack lift
head under the centre of the
wheel, as shown.
7. Wind the jack up by turning the
jack handle clockwise until it
contacts the end of the securing
cable a ssem bly.
8. Continue raising the jack until
the spare wheel stops moving
upwards and is held firmly in
place.
The secondary latch has now
released and the spare wheel
should now be balancing on
the jack.

WARNING
Do not continue raising the jack
once the spare wheel has
stopped moving, as this may
cause the rear of the vehicle to lift
off the ground and thus become
unstable.
9. Lower the jack slowly by turning
the jack handle anticlockwise.
10. Keep lowering the jack until the
wheel lowers completely to the
ground or is hanging from the
cable.

WARNING
While the spare wheel is
lowering, continue to ensure that
the wheel lowers horizontally.
Please be aware that in some
cases the wheel may lower at an
angle or detach itself from the
jack lift head; if either occurs
proceed with caution.
11. Disconnect the jack handle
from the jack and carefully
remove the jack.
Use one hand to push against
the spare wheel while firmly
pulling the jack out from under
the spare wheel with the
other hand.
12. If the spare wheel is hanging
from the securing cable, go to
Step 4 under Tyre changing
Petrol vehicles earl ier in this
section, then proceed with the
rest of the tyre changing
instructions.
