Usage Features:

The Kakute F722 offers a variety of ports for quick and easy setup, including dedicated ports for ESC, Digital VTX, Analog VTX, Receiver, and LED. This simplifies wiring and reduces the complexity of drone assembly.

Connectivity:

  • ESC Port: 2x JST-SH 8pin ports for ESC connection. This port includes pins for battery positive voltage (2S-8S), ESC telemetry (R4), ground, current sensor input, and motor outputs (M1-M4). When connecting the B+ wire, it should be linked to a battery voltage source, such as the battery + pad on a PDB or 4-in-1 ESC. It's recommended to use a dedicated vBat pad or wire if available on the PDB/ESC for powering accessories like the Kakute F722. The G wire should be connected to a ground source, such as the battery - pad on the PDB or 4-in-1 ESC.
  • HD VTX Port: 1x JST-SH 6pin port for HD VTX. This port provides 9V power out (3A), ground, and UART communication (T1, R1, R6). It is specifically designed for external digital image transmission equipment.
  • Receiver & Analog Camera Ports: 2x JST-SH 4pin ports for Receiver & Analog Camera.
    • Analog Camera Connector: This port includes pins for Camera Control (Pin4), Video input from FPV camera (Pin3), GND (Pin2), and Camera 5V power supply (Pin1).
    • UART2 Connector Receiver: This port provides GND (Pin1), Receiver 5V power supply (Pin2), UART2 RX (Pin3), and UART2 TX (Pin4).
  • LED Port: 1x JST-SH 3pin port for LED. This port provides GND (Pin1), LED 5V power supply (Pin2), and WS2812 addressable LED signal wire (Pin3).

Pinout Diagram (Top of Board):

  • 9V: 9V output (2.0A max)
  • 5V: 5V output (2.0A max)
  • Vo: Video output to video transmitter
  • Vin: Video input from FPV camera
  • G: Ground
  • SDA, SCL: I²C connection (for peripherals)
  • R1, T1: UART1 RX and TX
  • R2, T2: UART2 RX and TX
  • R3, T3: UART3 RX and TX
  • R4, T4: UART4 RX and TX
  • R6, T6: UART6 RX and TX
  • LED: WS2812 addressable LED signal wire
  • Bz-: Piezo buzzer negative leg
  • Bz+: Connect buzzer positive leg to 5V pad
  • 3V3: 3.3V output (200 mA max)
  • M1-M6: Motor signal outputs
  • Rsi: Analog RSSI (0-3.3V) input from receiver
  • B+: Battery positive voltage (2S-8S)
  • Curr: Current Sensor Input
  • Boot: Bootloader button
  • CAM: Camera Control

The integrated high-power synchronous rectifier BEC supports up to 8S input, providing stable 9V/3A and 5V/2A outputs, which can power various onboard components and accessories efficiently. The built-in analog video OSD allows for real-time display of flight data, enhancing the pilot's situational awareness.

Maintenance Features:

The 16 Mbytes of onboard Blackbox logging memory allows for detailed recording of flight data, which is crucial for diagnosing flight issues, tuning PID settings, and analyzing performance. This feature aids in troubleshooting and optimizing the drone's flight characteristics. The robust design and clear pinout diagrams facilitate easy connection and replacement of components, simplifying maintenance.
