REMOVAL
Drain the coolant (page 6-7).
Drain
the
transmission oil (page 3·20).
Remove the brake pedal (page
15
·24
).
Remove
the
right
engine
guard
(page 2-4).
Remove the kickstarter pedal bolt and kickstarter
pedal.
Loosen the band screw and disconnect the radiator
hose
from
the
water
pump
cover.
Loosen the
right
crankcase cover bolts
in
a criss-

cross pattern in
two
or
three steps. L
Remove the
bolts
and
right
crankcase cover.
Remove
the
water
by-pass
pipe
and
O-ring.
Remove the gasket and
dow
el
pins.
Remove
the
plain
washer.
Check the kickstarter spindle oil seal
for
deteriora-
tion or
damage
