To turn off an alarming system
before 30 seconds have elapsed,
unlock the driver’s door with the
ignition key or the remote
transmitter.
The security system helps to protect
your vehicle and valuables from theft.
The horn sounds (the beeping alarm
on vehicles with ultrasonic sensor)
and the turn signal lights flash if
someone attempts to break into your
vehicle or remove the audio display
unit. This alarm continues for 30
seconds, then the system resets.
To set the ultrasonic sensor along
with the security system, you should
lock the doors and the tailgate with
the key or the remote transmitter.
The security system sets
automatically 15 seconds (25
seconds on vehicles equipped with
the ultrasonic sensor activat ed) after
you lock the doors, bonnet, and
tailgate. For the system t o activate,
you must lock the doors and the
tailgate from the outside with the
key or remote transmitter. The
security system indicator on the
instrument panel starts blinking
immediately to show you the system
is setting itself.
On vehicles with the ultrasonic
sensor, only the remote transmitter
canturnoffthesecuritysystem.
Unlocking the driver’s door with the
key cannot turn off the security
system and activates the alarm.
