SPARK PLUG CLEANING AND
ADJUSTMENT
(1) If spark plug electrode is dirt^Wwt
or covered with carbon deposits,
proper ignition cannot be produced;
resulting in abnormal engine op
eration. Therefore, it is necessary
to clean the spark plug and adjust
gap periodically.
(2) To clean spark plug, use of a spark
plug cleaner provides the best
results. If a cleaner is not available,
clean with a pin or wire to remove
deposits from around the tip of
electrode and then wash with gasoline and wipe with a dry rag. Do not
attempt to clean the plug by burning the carbon from the electrode.
(3) The standard plug originally installed is C-6HB.
(4) The plug gap 0 should be measured with the thickness gauge and adjusted
to 0.024^0.028 in (0.6~0.7 mm) by bending the ground electrode
(5) When installing the spark plug, first, screw the plug in by fingers and
then tighten 1/2 to 3/4 turn with a spark plug wrench.
