F. Remote Panel Features
(1) Three-position switch; ON, ARMED, and TEST/RESET.
ON position with switch guard – for manually activating transmitter unit.
ARMED position – normal in-service position allowing automatic G-switch activation.
TEST/RESET position – manually resets the transmitter unit to the ARMED state if
activated, or to perform self-test on the system.
(2) Initiates/Monitors transmitter unit self-test.
(3) LED indicates both transmit and self-test results.
(4) The required functionality (FAA) from the transmitter unit to remote panel can be provided
by four 24 AWG interconnect wires.
(5) Additional interconnect wires provide the following optional functionality:
(a) Alternate buzzer connection points
(b) Master Caution Pulse/Master Caution Steady State to aircraft systems
(6) Connections to aircraft power (28 V dc, 5 V dc dimmer control, and 5 V ac 400 Hz)
provide:
(a) Aural chime connection (28 V dc)
(b) Master lighting test (28 V dc)
(c) Backlight supply (28 V dc or 5 V ac)
(d) Backlight dimming control (5 V ac, 400 Hz or 5 V dc)
G. Antenna Functional Description
The system uses a fin antenna (refer to FITS AND CLEARANCES, page 801). The antenna is
installed on the exterior (top) of the aircraft at the rear, in front of the vertical stabilizer. It provides
efficient radiation at 121.5, 243 and 406 MHz.

(3) Triple frequency 121.5/243/406 MHz
